Welcome
The Flora of North-East England
Welcome to the Flora North-East website. This site is a source of information for anyone interested in wild plants of north-east England. It is maintained by volunteers from the Botanical Society of the British Isles (BSBI)
The North-east of England has a rich and interesting flora. Its diverse countyside supports a wealth of plants in what is a relatively small area. Alpine and Bog plants thrive in the hilly west of the region, while coastal plants abound on the dunes, cliffs and saltmarshes.
